Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review

Over the past year or so I've been incorporating Coconut Oil into my cooking... So far, so good! I absolutely love using coconut oil in my baked goodies because it always adds a perfect moist touch. Recently I received a jar of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil to review and I can definitely say that I'm impressed! The light but sweet scent instantly took me back to my childhood years when I was first introduced to Coconut Oil.

I came across a recipe for Coconut Oil Chocolate Covered Strawberries on FreeCoconutRecipes.com. This recipe turned out to be very quick, easy, stove-free and as yummy as can be! My 8-year old daughter loved mixing all the ingredients together and creating the chocolate dip. It's an extremely kid friendly creation from start to finish...

Combining ingredients, minus salt and chocolate extract.
Ready for dipping!
First chocolate coating & then freeze!

We ended up with over half a bowl full of sauce left so I put some to use and drizzled it over fresh cut mango pieces. All I can say is mmmm, mmm, mmmm! You can even use the remaining chocolate to make small coconut oil chocolate bars. How about chocolate covered fruit pops?

There's tons of delicious summer treats you can create.

Check out this short video on Virgin Coconut Oil...

Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil & Desiccated Coconut Review + RECIPE!

Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil Tropics Best Desiccated Coconut

Since I was a little child I’ve always used coconut oil on my skin instead of lotion… I remember my grandmother always telling me to rub it into my skin not only to moisturize my skin but to smell good too! In my later years I started using coconut oil as a styling product for my hair -- it didn't matter if my hair was curly or straightened out... it worked wonders (and still does)! It wasn't up until a few short months ago that I actually started using coconut oil to cook or bake with. When I received a jar of Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil and 1-lb bag of Desiccated Coconut to review I couldn't wait to use them, so I immediately decided on something sweet & yummy... cupcakes!
Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil & Desiccated Coconut
I came up with my own recipe the Tropical Super-Moist Cake Mix Extender, which includes Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil and Desiccated Coconut. Using this recipe will nearly DOUBLES the amount of cake or cupcakes you make. (I typically get around 24 cupcakes using one box, but adding my extender allows me to make around 40 cupcakes from one box!)

Tropical Super-Moist Cake Mix Extender
1/2 Cup - Tropics Best Desiccated Coconut
1/2 Cup - Tropics Best Virgin Coconut Oil
1 Cup - Flour
1 Teaspoon - Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon - Vanilla Extract
1 1/4 Cup – Water

Prepare your favorite box cake as normal (I used Funfetti), then add the ingredients for the Tropical Super-Moist Cake Mix Extender into the very same bowl. Mix for a few minutes until all ingredients are combined. The batter should come out slightly lumpy due to the coconut flakes. I was very pleased with my creation and I’m sure you will be too… my cupcakes came out deliciously sweet with a heavenly aroma, velvet-like texture and were SUPER moist!

There are so many things that I really like about Tropics Best and their delicious coconut products… For one, Tropics Best is three generations of pure coconut business. Their coconut products are Certified Organic and made to order. You never have to worry about receiving product that has been sitting around forever because Tropics Best products are delivered farm-fresh to all over the world! Even the Virgin Coconut Oil’s expected shelf life of 24 months from the date it is manufactured. YES, that means you can stock up & not have to worry about your supply going bad.
Every time I cook and it calls for oil or added zing I’m going to try and incorporate these products because there are many health benefits to doing so. Even right down to the packaging of the Desiccated Coconut its printed that it “can improve digestion, help regulate blood sugar, protect against diabetes, help prevent heart disease and cancer, and in weight control!” Now for the coconut oil Tropics Best lists some health benefits like“increased energy and metabolism, weight management, thyroid function, antimicrobial, antiviral and antifungal, properties of these fatty acids.” Tropics best truly produces the purest organic virgin coconut oil – just take a look at their Specifications Sheet. Be sure to stop by TropicsBest.com to find out more about their organic coconut products and pick up some items at their affordable prices.
